Terms of use and Pro licence

These terms cover the Fix Watermark website and tools. They are short and written in plain language. By using the site you agree to them.

What Fix Watermark does

Fix Watermark adds a text or logo mark to files you choose, and can write copyright details into a photo's metadata. That is all it does: it only adds. Use it on files you made, or files you have permission to mark. Where a photo already names a creator or copyright holder, the tools keep that credit unless you choose to replace it for a run, and that choice is your responsibility.

Your files

Your files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to us, so we never hold a copy. We claim no rights in your files or in the results. You are responsible for having the right to mark and share them.

The free tools

The tools are free for everyday use, within the limits printed above each tool. We may change the tools and the limits over time. Your device and browser set further limits, and some files cannot be processed. The tool tells you when that happens.

Pro licence

Pro is US$29, paid once. There is no subscription. It lifts the batch limit, so a run can hold more photos or PDFs without splitting. It adds dynamic text in marks, lets video run longer than the free limit, saves into a folder in browsers that offer a folder picker, such as Chrome and Edge, and lifts the limit on saved presets. Your device still sets its own limits on video.

A Pro licence belongs to the person who bought it and works on any of that person's devices. Please do not share your licence file or token with others. The licence is a signed token stored in your browser, and you can download it as a file to keep. Browsers can clear their storage, so keep the file safe. If you lose it, see the restore page.

Refunds

If you are not happy with Pro, email hello@fixwatermark.com within 30 days of buying it, from the address you paid with, and quote your Stripe receipt number. We will refund the purchase. A refunded licence is no longer valid, and we ask you to stop using it.

No warranty

The site and the tools are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Browsers, devices and files vary, so check each result before you use or share it, and keep your originals. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us.

Not legal advice

A visible watermark shows who made the work and discourages reuse. Embedded copyright metadata travels with the file and some services read it. Neither gives you rights you did not already have, and neither prevents anyone from using a file. Nothing on this site is legal advice. For questions about copyright, ask a qualified lawyer.

Open-source software and other names

Fix Watermark uses open-source software: @cantoo/pdf-lib (MIT), Mediabunny (MPL-2.0), fflate (MIT) and jSquash WebP (Apache-2.0), and the Bricolage Grotesque typeface (SIL Open Font License 1.1). Other product names on this site are used only to describe what a tool reads or supports, and we are not affiliated with their owners.
